Halogenated aliphatic compounds such as trichloroethylene (TCE),
tetrachloroethylene (PCE), dichloroethane (DCA) and other chlorinated solvents which, have
historically proven to be difficult to bioremediate, can now be biologically treated in a
safe cost effective manner.
Sumas Environmental Services in conjunction with our associate partners have developed a
procedure for treating these chemicals utilizing an aggressive biological treatment system
that completely mineralizes these recalcitrant compounds to carbon dioxide, water and
chloride ions.
The Chlorinated Solvent Remediation
(CSR) system combines previously proven cometabolic microbial dehalogenation processes
with Sumas Environmental Services aggressive Biochemically Enhanced Remediation (BER)
process. The BER process has already treated over one million tons of hydrocarbon
contaminated soil throughout the United States. The combination of these two systems has
resulted in a reliable method for bioremediating halogenated compounds like TCE more cost
effectively than any currently available treatment technology. Also, as with all Sumas
Environmental Services products and systems, the results are guaranteed to be effective in
solving the problem. |
